What you need

Turn off the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.

Disconnect the power from the computer by unplugging the power cord from the computer.

Disconnect all external devices from the computer.

Turn the computer upside down on a flat surface.

Loosen the eight captive screws that secure the bottom cover.

Loosen the two inset captive screws that secure the bottom cover.

Starting under the middle of the display, pry and lift the bottom cover off the computer.

Disconnect the battery cable from the system board.

Remove the four Torx T8 2.0×4.0 screws.

Rotate the top of the battery upward, and then lift the battery out of the computer.

To replace the battery & reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
