Introduction
If your HP EliteBook 725 G3 is often unexpectedly crashing, experiencing unexplained freezing/slowdowns, or continuous corrupted files and visual anomalies, you likely have a malfunctioning RAM stick. Use this guide to properly remove and replace your RAM stick.
The RAM stick, which stands for Random Access Memory, works as the short-term high-speed working memory for your computer. This is where your CPU stores all instructions and data it is actively using or will be using in the immediate future.
Before using this guide, attempt to reboot your system and run some diagnostics. Access your computer's diagnostics by pressing ESC as soon as your laptop starts up. Then press F2 to enter the diagnostics window. From here navigate to the component tests and click the one that says memory. It is better to do the extensive test rather than the quick test for a more thorough examination. The results will show if there are any errors, which will tell you that your RAM stick is failing. If given an error, follow this guide.
