The battery located within your laptop is it's main power supply. A battery typically degrades over time and will require replacement every 3 to 4 years. There are times, however, when batteries fail, rendering it useless without the charger being plugged in. This guide will show you how to easily replace the battery of your HP laptop.

Push the two spring-loaded tabs inward.

Once unlatched, pull the battery out of its compartment.
