What you need

1. Step 1 Remove the battery
  Turn off your laptop and flip it upside down onto a flat surface.
  
  Slide the battery lock tabs towards each other to unlock the battery.
  
  Lift the battery from the center and remove.

2. Step 2 Reassembly information
  To replace the battery:
  
  Align the new battery with the cut-out in the laptop.
  
  Insert the battery into it slot until you hear a "click" indicating the battery is fully seated.

1. Step 3 Remove the CD drive
  Use your Phillips screwdriver to remove the 10 screws from the bottom case.

2. Step 4
  Flip your laptop back over and lift open the screen so it is perpendicular to the keyboard.
  
  Use an opening tool to pry the keyboard up from the bottom case.
  
  The CD drive is located in the bottom case.
  
  Slide the CD drive out of the bottom case.
