Step 1 Remove the battery




• Turn off your laptop and flip it upside down onto a flat surface.
• Slide the battery lock tabs towards each other to unlock the battery.
• Lift the battery from the center and remove.

Step 2 Reassembly information

• To replace the battery:
• Align the new battery with the cut-out in the laptop.
• Insert the battery into it slot until you hear a "click" indicating the battery is fully seated.

Step 3 Remove the CD drive
• Use your Phillips screwdriver to remove the 10 screws from the bottom case.

Step 4
• Flip your laptop back over and lift open the screen so it is perpendicular to the keyboard.
• Use an opening tool to pry the keyboard up from the bottom case.
• The CD drive is located in the bottom case.
• Slide the CD drive out of the bottom case.
