Introduction

If your GameSir X5 Lite's d-pad is experiencing stickiness or unresponsiveness, follow this guide to replace it.

A d-pad is a mainstay of controllers, with various uses in games. If a d-pad is broken, it might feel sticky or unresponsive, which could hinder gameplay.

Before using this guide, ensure that the d-pad has been checked for any obstruction that could hinder its effectiveness. Ensure it is also cleaned by rubbing alcohol applied on a small instrument, such as a cotton swab, for additional cleaning.

It is important to note that there are no official d-pad kits for the GameSir X5 Lite, so any replacement will require 3D-printed parts or an unofficial third-party d-pad.

Before beginning, ensure that the GameSir X5 Lite is not connected to any device and is not being charged during the d-pad replacement.

Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the four 8 mm-long Phillips screws located on the back cover.

Fully extend the controller and remove the six 5 mm-long Phillip #00 screws off the back of the extender.

Step 3

Use an opening pick to loosen the back cover to reach the end of the extender.

Pull the extender to remove the last two 5 mm-long Phillips #00 screws.
Remove the springs to separate the two sides of the controller

Flip up the black locking flap securing the white ribbon cable.
Disconnect the ribbon cable.
Loosen the three 7 mm-long Phillips #00 screws where the triggers are located.
The three 7 mm-long Phillips screws where the triggers are located will not be separated, only loosened.
