Turn off the phone.

Heat the back cover evenly around the edges and near the camera.

Use an opening tool (e.g., iFixit opening tool, plastic card, etc.) to create a small gap.

Now, take a plastic card or a similar thin plastic object to keep this gap open.

Important: The tool you use now and for the following steps to open the device should be made of plastic to avoid damaging the back cover.

Take your hair dryer or heat gun again and heat up the entire device once more.

Now use the plastic card in the opening and move it slowly and carefully along the bezel. You can use a suction cup to pull slightly in order to detach the cover. If it is too difficult, heat the area again and, if necessary, let some solvent like isopropyl alcohol seep in.

!!!!!: Do not insert your tool too deep into the device to avoid damaging any flex cables.

After you have gone all the way around the edge of the back cover with your tool, carefully lift the back cover and detach it.
