Go to step 1 ↓Office chairs like the GERTTRONY model are used daily for work, studying, and gaming, which can cause the seat to loosen or become unstable over time. A wobbly seat is not only uncomfortable but can also affect posture and safety.
This guide will walk you through a simple, beginner-friendly process to repair or replace a loose GERTTRONY office chair seat using basic hand tools, helping you restore stability and extend the life of your chair instead of replacing it unnecessarily.

Carefully remove the four black screw covers from the sides of the chair arms (two per armrest) using a spudger or your fingers.

Use a 5 mm Allen key to remove the four 30.0 mm screws (two on each armrest) securing the back support.

Lift the back support straight up and away from the chair frame and set it aside.

Push the chair arms upward into the upright position.

Carefully flip the chair upside down onto a stable surface (a table or the floor works).

Use the 5 mm Allen key to remove the four 30.0 mm screws (two under each arm).

Use the 5 mm Allen key to remove the four 20.0 mm screws securing the tilt mechanism.

Remove the old seat from the chair.

Align the chair arms with the mounting holes on the new seat.

Insert the four 30 mm screws (two for each arm) and tighten them using the Allen key, turning clockwise.

Place the tilt mechanism onto the new seat.

Align the screw holes on the seat with the holes on the tilt mechanism.

Insert the four 20.0 mm screws and tighten them using the Allen key by turning clockwise.

Flip the chair upright so it rests on its wheels.

Sit in the chair carefully to test its stability.

To reinstall the back support, follow the instructions in steps 1-3 in the reverse order.
