Following this guide involves simple removal of the pop-up flash casing, keeping the rest of the camera intact.

What you need

  1. Fujifilm FinePix S1 Flash Spring Replacement, Flash Spring: step 1, image 1 of 2 Fujifilm FinePix S1 Flash Spring Replacement, Flash Spring: step 1, image 2 of 2

    • Remove the 4 screws from the flash casing.

    • Pry the edges off of the flash casing, and pull it off of the camera.

    • Locate the spring on the left-hand side of the camera.

    • Remove the spring by pulling it out of its placement.
