Introduction
If the controller is having trouble turning on or consistently disconnects from the console, it may be due to overcharging of the battery. Over time, excessive charging (leaving the controller plugged in past full charge) can cause the battery quality to deteriorate. If your controller is experiencing a symptom of a faulty battery, it will need to be replaced with a new one.
To access the battery the controller shell will need to be separated, and the motherboard will need to be removed.
Caution: Many of the controller's plastic components may be fragile and subject to breaking upon excessive force. Exercise caution while dealing with plastic components.
