Introduction
Use this guide to safely disassemble your Fitbit Versa 4 and replace the internal lithium-ion battery. Over time, smart watch batteries lose their ability to hold a charge, leading to rapid draining, unexpected shutdowns, or swelling. This procedure walks you through heating the adhesive perimeter, unsealing the display assembly, disconnecting internal delicate flex cables, and swapping out the cell.
This repair is rated as Hard. The Fitbit Versa 4 is factory-sealed with strong perimeter adhesive and houses extremely delicate display flex cables right beneath the glass. Removing the screen without cracking the panel or severing the ribbon cables requires significant patience, precise heat control, and careful technique. Additionally, replacing the battery requires re-sealing the device, which permanently affects the smartwatch's original factory water-resistance rating.
