Introduction
Fungal growths and dust can accumulate on the underside of the scanning glass, which can affect the quality of your scans. This guide shows you how to get there and clean it.
What you need

On each side of the open hinge there are two large Phillips screws on either side.

Use a Phillips screwdriver to unscrew them and lift them out with tweezers.

Gently lift the top casing of the scanner up from the side where you unscrewed the area around the lid hinge, at the corner opposite to where the buttons are located.

While holding it up at an angle like that, slide the casing towards the opposite side of the hinge.

The top casing can now be gently lifted off.

Use a glass cleaner (as instructed on the bottle) to clean off any fungal growths or particles off of the underside of the glass, then dry with a lint-free cloth.

There you go! All gone.
