Introduction
This guide will assist you with removing the backplate of the Dell XPS 16 DA16260 safely.
I created this guide when I was disassembling this laptop after looking for a guide and realizing that there were none made! I realize its a simple task but documentation is always good!
What you need
-
-
-
There are 4 T5 Torx screws that need to be removed from the backplate.
-
Once the 4 T5 Torx screws have been removed you need to get a pry tool (preferably plastic to avoid scratches) and pry between the keyboard and the body of the laptop.
-
-
-
-
When you get the keyboard loose do not pull it away aggressively, there is little connector (shown in picture). To remove that connector just pull up on the cable. Once that connector is removed you can move the keyboard out of the way!
-
To re-insert the connector just push down gently but firm, you will hear a small click.
-
-
To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
