Step 1 Remove the battery and memory module cover.

Remove the battery cable connector from the connector on the system board.

Step 2 Raise corner of plastic sleeve above the battery; pull battery out.

Being careful not to break the plastic, slightly raise the corner of the plastic sleeve above the battery.
While holding the plastic sleeve, grasp the battery and pull it out of the battery compartment.

Step 3 Insert new coin-cell battery into sleeve; connect cable connector to system board.

Install the new coin-cell battery into the plastic sleeve.
Connect the cable connector to the system board.

Step 4 Install the keyboard & base cover.

Reinstall the keyboard and hinge cover.
