This guide is detailing how to remove the base cover of the Dell Latitude 5300. This is a prerequisite step for all internal repairs.

What you need

Tools

    1. Dell Latitude 5300 Lower Case Replacement, Lower Case: step 1, image 1 of 1
      • Loosen the eight captive screws using Phillips #0 screwdriver.

      • The captive screws are attached to the base cover.

      • Pry the cover off of device using an opening pick while lifting the base cover.

      • Work your way around the device prying on all sides to release the base cover.

      • Lift away base cover revealing the interior.
