Introduction
If you need to replace the fan assembly in your Dell Latitude 5300, this guide will help you do so. A fan that is either inoperable or not triggering correctly can cause issues such as overheating and excess noise.
Before using this guide, Remove any micro-SD card you may have inserted into the micro-SD slot. Also remember to power off the device completely and disconnect it from any power source. Also, when working with any electronic, make sure you are grounded. This can be done with an anti-static bracelet, or by keeping contact with a grounded metal object nearby.

Peel up the black tape securing the battery cable to the battery.

Use your fingernail to disconnect the battery connector.

Use your fingernails to disconnect the fan connector.

Remove the two Phillips #0 screws securing the fan to the chassis.

Remove the fan.

To reassemble your device, follow the above steps in reverse order.
Take your e-waste to an R2 or e-Stewards certified recycler.
