What you need

    • Flip the laptop over so the bottom side is facing up.

    • Use a JIS #1 screwdriver to remove all twenty-one 7 mm screws that secure the bottom cover.

    • Keep screws organized, as their lengths may vary.

    • Gently slide out the optical disc drive from the underside of the right edge of the laptop.

    • If you’re unable to remove the disc drive, make sure all twenty-one screws have been fully unscrewed.

    • Lift the bottom cover of the laptop starting from the corner.

    • Insert an opening tool or heavy-duty nylon spudger into the seam between the top and bottom case and slide it around the perimeter to release the clips holding it together.

    • Remove the bottom cover.

    • Using both hands, pull the metal clips on either side of the RAM away from the module to release it.

    • Be gentle when removing the RAM to avoid breaking the latches or bending the RAM stick.

    • Slide the first RAM stick from the socket.

    • Once the top RAM stick is out, repeat Step 4 to remove the bottom RAM.
