Introduction
This guide shows how to replace the battery in a Chipolo ONE Point tracker without damaging the thin internal battery retaining strip.
The most important point is that the battery is not rotated or pried upward. The battery is held in place by a thin battery retainer, and that it must be carefully rotated out of the way.
What you need
-
-
Insert a flexible steel blade carefully into the seam of the casing. Work slowly around the edge until the casing begins to separate.
-
-
-
Do not try to lift the CR2032 battery out by force. Do not bend the battery retainer upward. This can break the battery retainer.
-
-
-
-
Carefully rotate the thin battery retainer out of the way. The battery should become loose once the strip is no longer holding it.
-
-
-
Remove the old CR2032 battery after the battery retainer has been moved aside.
-
-
-
Insert the new CR2032 battery in the same orientation as the old one. Make sure the battery sits flat in its holder.
-
-
-
Rotate the thin battery retainer back into its original position. Make sure it holds the battery without being bent or stressed.
-
-
-
Align the casing halves. Press them together carefully until the casing closes.
-
After replacing the CR2032 battery, make sure the battery sits flat and the thin retaining strip is back in its original position.
Close the Chipolo ONE Point casing carefully and check that the tracker powers on normally.
The key point is simple:
Do not pry the battery upward. Rotate the thin retaining strip out of the way, then remove the battery.
