Casablanca Intelli-Touch W-11 control testing

What you need

    1. Casablanca Intelli-Touch W-11 control testing, Test wiring: step 1, image 1 of 1
      • Connect the hot side of an AC power cord to the Line In to the W-11

      • Connect the neutral side to a light bulb, lamp, etc.

      • Connect the Line Out of the WC-11 to the other side of the light bulb. Use a jumper wire.

      • Connect the oscilloscope leads to the hot and neutral sides of the light bulb.

      • Be sure that all the wiring is secure so that nothing shorts out during the testing.

      • Plug in the AC plug to a 110 volt outlet

      • Turn on the W-11 power switch.

      • Does the light turn on? If not, check your wiring.

      • Turn off the power, take apart the W-11 and test the power switch with a continuity tester/multimeter.

      • Set up the oscilloscope to observe the AC sine wave.

      • Press the Light button

      • Check the ossilloscope.

      • Do you see the small signal that appears on the rising side of the AC sine wave?

      • Press the fan button

      • Do you see the signal on the falling side of the AC sine wave?

      • Press the fan and light switches simultaneously.

      • Do you see the signals on both the rising and falling sides of the AC sine wave?
