Introduction

The Bose QuietComfort 15 headphones use a single AAA battery to power their active noise cancellation feature. If your headphones are not turning on or the noise cancellation is not working properly, the battery may need to be replaced.

Before beginning, make sure you have a new AAA alkaline battery available. Handle the headphones carefully to avoid damaging the earcups or battery compartment.

Hold the headphones with the earcups facing you.
Locate the battery compartment on the inside of the right earcup.
The battery compartment is a small rectangular door that holds the AAA battery used for noise cancellation.

Slide the battery compartment door open using your finger.
Remove the old AAA battery from the compartment.
Do not use excessive force when opening the battery compartment.
If the battery does not come out easily, tilt the headphones or gently tap the earcup to loosen it.

Insert a new AAA battery into the battery compartment.
Close the battery compartment door until it clicks into place.
Insert the battery with the positive (+) end facing inward.
Once installed, the headphones should have power and noise cancellation should function normally.
