Bosch Washing Machine Dispenser Drawer Removal and Cleaning

Video Guide
This guide was transcribed from a YouTube video.

What you need

    • Turn off the washing machine, unplug it, and make sure no wash cycle is running.

    • Keep water and damp cloths away from the controls, plug, and wall outlet.

    • Clean the detergent drawer at least once a year, or whenever residue, mold, or conditioner buildup appears.

    • This procedure was written for the Bosch Serie 4 VarioPerfect washing machine.

    • Use the same method on a Siemens washing machine only if the drawer has the same release-button design.

    • Rinse the drawer under hot water.

    • Use an brush to scrub away grime, dirt, mold, and washing powder residue.

    • Use only a spare cleaning brush, and don't reuse it for personal care.

    • Older drawers can look much dirtier than a new washer drawer, especially where detergent and conditioner collect.

    • Wipe inside the dispenser cavity with a non-scratch damp cloth while the drawer is removed.

    • Don't use a brush inside the cavity, as it can fall into the detergent and conditioner opening and get trapped.

    • Clean only the reachable surfaces, and don't force the cloth down into the opening.

    • Line up the dispenser drawer with its runners.

    • Push the drawer in slowly until the release clip reaches the front edge.

    • Don't slam the drawer into place, as this can damage the clip.

    • Press the release button down again so the clip tucks underneath.

    • Push the drawer home until it closes fully.

    • Dry any visible water around the dispenser and plug the machine back in when the area is dry.
