Bosch Dishwasher Cleaning and Maintenance

Remove the bottom tray and set it safely aside.

Lift the lower spray arm straight up and out of the tub.

Scrub the spray holes with a brush and hot, soapy water.

Clear bits of food, residue, mold, or debris from every hole.

Press the spray arm back into place and spin it to confirm it turns freely.

Turn the upper spray arm retainer counterclockwise about 45 degrees.

Pull the spray arm off the mount.

Scrub each spray hole with a brush and hot, soapy water.

Check the center water passage for blockages.

Slide the spray arm into the groove, push it upward, and turn it clockwise about 45 degrees to lock it.

Spin the spray arm to confirm it turns freely.

Turn the filter counterclockwise a few turns until the catch releases.

Lift the whole filter assembly out of the dishwasher.

Use a sponge to soak up the excess water in the filter well.

Squeeze the sponge into a bucket and repeat until the water is removed.

Use a sturdy metal spoon as a blunt lever behind the pump cover clip.

Pry the clip outward just enough for it to pop free.

Grip the cover with your fingers and pull it upward and toward you.

Look down into the pump opening to find the wastewater pump propeller.

Turn the propeller with a finger and confirm it spins freely.

Remove any debris, dirt, or long hair from the pump area.

Slide the pump cover downward, push it inward, and listen for the clip to snap into place.

Scrape as much dirt and debris from the filter into the trash with a brush.

Remove as much buildup as possible before washing the filter in a bowl.

Fill a bowl with hot, soapy water.

Scrub the filter parts with a brush until all visible dirt is removed.

Clip the filter parts back together if they separated during cleaning.

Slide the filter assembly into the opening and push it down gently.

Turn the filter clockwise until the arrows line up.

Confirm the filter tightens and locks into place.

Pull the dishwasher out only far enough to reach the rear hoses.

Place a bucket under the drainage hose connection at the U-bend pipework.

Remove the drainage hose from the U-bend pipework.

Drain any excess water from the hose into the bucket.

Check the hose end for residue and debris.

Clean the hose end with a brush if buildup is present.

Use a mobile phone on video mode with the camera light on to look down into the U-bend.

If the U-bend is blocked, undo the U-bend pipework, clear it out, and screw it back on.

Check the inlet filter in the supply hose while the dishwasher is pulled out.

Remove visible dirt or grit from the filter before reconnecting the hose securely.

Peel the small tab sticker from the top of the dishwasher cleaner container.

Lay the cleaner container down where a plate would sit in the rack.

Roll the rack in and close the dishwasher door.

Select the normal hottest cycle and press start.

Open the dishwasher door after the cycle ends.

Remove the empty dishwasher cleaner container and recycle it.

Check that the inside looks clean and smells fresh.

Use a cleaning cloth dampened with hot, soapy water to wipe the rubber door seals on both sides.

Remove food bits and dirt from the seals.

Wipe the outer door edge where food and dirt collect.
