Introduction

If your Beats Wireless Solo 2 Headphones do not feel comfortable on your ears while wearing them, this means the earpads are coming off, or the material covering the foam on the earpads is ripped. It might be time to consider changing the earpads. Use this guide to replace the earpads on your Beats.

The earpads are the most important part of the headphones when it comes to comfort. If you have bad earpads, your ears may hurt from the discomfort caused by the headphones, or you might just not want to wear the headphones in public because the earpads are ripped and look ugly.

Before using this guide, you will need to have your replacement earpads ready to go.

Before beginning, make sure to power off your headphones and disconnect from any external power source.

Set the headphones down on a flat surface.
Insert a plastic card or opening pick between between the earpads and the speaker housing.
Carefully pry around the entire perimeter of the the pads until they fully release.

Use the card to clean up the adhesive residue left on the headphones.
Apply high-concentration isopropyl alcohol to a cloth and use it to remove any lingering adhesive.

Fold the other side of the headphones you are not working on.
This makes it easier to work and focus on the side you are on.
Carefully pick up the new pads and line them up with the Beats.
The new earpads come with the adhesive on them already; you just have to peel the plastic covering off.

Press down on the new pad to make sure it adheres to the headphones.
Make sure to go around the pad and press down on every part.

Find a large object and place the headphones on it just like the object is wearing the headphones.
Leave the headphones on the object for an hour so it can clamp the earpads to itself.
After 1 hour, you are good to go.
