Introduction

Barstools aren't cheap and the only thing to be replaced on it is the fabric and the cushion part. If you are looking to save money, wanting to learn how to repair your own barstool seats, and put your own twist on it, here is a easy step by step guide on how to repair the cushion seat on a barstool.
Before using this guide make sure to have all the material, plenty of work room, and it's done in a well lit room.
What you need

Remove the four hex screws under the barstool using an Allen wrench.

If your stool has a backrest, remove it by unscrewing the two hex screws with an Allen wrench.

Place the fabric flat on your workspace, then center the foam and board on top of it with the domed side facing down against the fabric.

Trace a circle onto the fabric by running a marker directly against the edge of the board.

Draw a second, larger circle about five inches outside the first line.

Apply downward pressure to the board, pull a section of the fabric tight toward yourself, and secure it to the edge of the board with a staple.

Rotate the board and repeat this process along the entire perimeter until the fabric is completely secured.

Trim away any excess fabric remaining outside the staple line.

Align the metal frame with the sewing pins and place it flat against the board.

Remove the sewing pins one at a time, replacing each one with a Phillips screw to secure the plate in place.

Place the stool frame or legs onto the bottom of the seat, aligning them with the four pre-drilled holes.

Use the Allen wrench to tighten the hex screws and secure the legs to the base.
