Introduction

Replacing the speaker requires the use of a soldering kit. A guide to soldering is available on iFixit's website here.

What you need

Step 1 Speaker

Azpen A701 Speaker Replacement, Speaker: step 1, image 1 of 1

Wedge plastic spudger in between the back panel and the speaker of the device.

Step 2

Gently pry out the speaker from the back panel using the plastic spudger.

Step 3

Heat solder and apply to the wires where they attach to the motherboard. This will disconnect the wires from the motherboard.
The wires should still be attached to the speaker.

Step 4

Take the speaker and wires that are attached out of the device and insert a new speaker by soldering the wires to the motherboard.

Conclusion

To reassemble your device, snap back piece back on to device and secure both 2cm screws at the bottom.
