What you need

1. Step 1 Back Cover
  Using a T4 Torx screwdriver, remove the ten screws at the marked locations.
  
  Place the screws into a container as to not lose them.

  Carefully slide your iFixit Opening Tool between the back panel.
  
  Lift the back plate of your ASUS ZenBook UX31E, and place it to the side.

1. Step 3 Fan
  Disconnect the ribbon between the IO and the motherboard on both sides.

  Disconnect the fan connector from the motherboard.
  
  Pull up the clips on the ribbon connectors.

  Unscrew the two screws that are across each other.

4. Step 6
  Using a plastic opening tool, lift the fan off of the laptop.
  
  You can now use your hands and carefully pull the fan off the laptop.

This guide does not explain how to replace the fan, but how to remove the fan.

How do you insert a new fan? (Specifically, how do you remove the fan from the component of which it is a part?)
