Introduction

The Asus RT-N56U Wireless Router was released in Early 2011. It featured both 2.4GHz and 5GHz wireless networking, 2 USB 2.0 Ports, 4 Ethernet Ports, and a thin & stylish design!

What you need

1. Step 1 Stand Removal
  If the stand is slotted into the bottom, flip the router upside down and gently pull right to remove it.

2. Step 2 Peeling Sticker
  Work carefully to peel the label on the back side off.
  
  Try not to damage the label, as it can be important later.

4. Step 3 Case Screws
  Unscrew the 2 Phillips screws securing the front casing in place.

5. Step 4 Plastic Clips & Adhesive
  Remove the adhesive and clips also securing the front casing and lift it like a book from the left side, then remove it.

6. Step 5 Board Screws
  Remove the 2 Phillips screws securing the main board to the casing.

7. Step 6 Removing the Board
  Lift to around a 20° angle.
  
  Gently pull up slightly, then the board should unlock to allow you to rotate it to around a 90° angle and remove it.
