Introduction
Go to step 1 ↓This guide takes you step by step through the process required to replace the motherboard of the Amazon Fire TV Stick. This task is simple and should not take more than a few minutes. To complete this you will need a plastic opening tool. If you follow the easy steps you will successfully remove the faulty motherboard and replace it.

Insert a plastic opening tool into the seam on either side of the device.

Side the plastic opening tools along the seam of the stick and pry the top half of the case away from the bottom.

Where can you purchase a new motherboard for the TV stick?
Where can you get a new mobo? Mine was defective from day one. Amazon thought it was the remote and replaced the remote. It still didn't work. When I contacted them to state this and get a new stick, they informed me they had refunded my purchase and I would just need to buy a new stick.They said I can through this one away. This was frustrating and being the tinkerer I am I want to get this thing to work now. If there is any info on any connections that I can reinforce that would be great too.
Some issues are caused by the flexing of the Stick (being inserted & removed) around the HDMI connector internally, in addition to the Heat dissipation issues the Fire TV Stick is known for having……. I have just re-soldered the internal cracks around the HDMI connector on my Fire TV Stick & have replaced the Amazon provided USB power adaptor (which is 1.0 ampere) with another adaptor that I have (Which is 1.35 ampere) & the stick is now operating as well if not better than it ever has
