vivo Communication Technology Co, Ltd. is a technology company that produces and designs smartphones, software, smartphone accessories, and online services. vivo is owned by BBK Electronics, a Chinese conglomerate that specializes in electronics. vivo was founded in China in 2009.
vivo’s international expansion began in 2014, beginning with Thailand, India, Indonesia, Myanmar, Philippines, and Vietnam. vivo entered the smartphone market in Russia, Taiwan, Cambodia, and other countries in 2017. In the United States, vivo smartphones were also sold under the brand BLU. BLU Products is an American mobile phone manufacturer whose devices are manufactured in China. In 2018, BLU launched the vivo X smartphone as the BLU Vivo X. By 2020, vivo had expanded to over one hundred countries worldwide. vivo ranked among the top ten smartphone manufacturers in 2015.
vivo developed the world’s first half-screen in-display fingerprint sensors and elevating front camera.
