Video Episcopes also known as digital dermatoscopes are a medical device that make it possible for dermatologists to inspect for skin lesions. The video episcope is made up of a magnifier, a light source, and contact plate. When the images are digitally captured or taken as a video, it is called a a digital epiluminescence dermatoscope.

The main use of the video episcope is for the early detection of melanoma. The dermatologist is able to compare digitally stored images to compare skin lesions that are suspicious. If the lesions change over time, they may need to be removed.
