Background

The Sony Cyber-shot RX series is a part of Sony's current lineup of Cyber-shot cameras. The RX series cameras are expert-level Cyber-shot cameras and features larger sensor than any other Cyber-shot cameras. The first camera in this series, the DSC-RX100 was released in the summer of 2012. Later that year, Sony also announced the DSC-RX1 which was notable as, at the time, it was the world's smallest full-frame digital camera.

Identification

The model will usually be printed somewhere on the body, otherwise it can be located on the label on the bottom of the camera. The model name will contain the prefix "DSC" (standing for digital still camera). The model will then contain the letter 'RX' followed by the model number and version (for example, DSC-RX100 IV).
