Background
Sonos is an audio equipment manufacturer, founded in 2002 in the USA.
Sonos' first wireless product was the ZP100, a wireless amplifier, launched in 2005. The ZP100 allowed users to stream music from a computer or NAS device to a Sonos system. Sonos released its first all-in-one music system, the ZonePlayer S5, in 2009 (later generations were marketed as the Play:5 and Sonos Five). The ZonePlayer S5, a network amplifier with built-in speakers, could stream music from multiple services controlled through the Sonos smartphone app.
Bluetooth audio was first introduced with the Sonos Move in 2019. The Move was also Sonos' first battery-powered "portable" speaker. Sonos launched the Roam in 2021, which is the first ultra-portable Bluetooth speaker from Sonos.
