Background
The Sennheiser HD 505 are over-ear open-back headphones, released in 2025.
The HD 505 are built on the HD 500 chassis, weighting 237 g. The headphones uses 120 ohm transducers that are angled slightly forward, inside open-back ear cups for improved soundstage, reproducing sounds as low as 12 Hz up to 38.5 kHz. The HD 505 has a 2.5 mm stereo socket with a proprietary locking connector.
The HD 505 are bright headphones with a base roll-off, tuned towards the Harman Reference Curve.
