Background and Identification

Respironics Pressure Alarm is a device that helps medical professionals keep track of what a patient’s respiratory intake is and keep the rate within the normal range. If something is wrong, it beeps and allows the professionals to react and bring you back to normal stage. (This device is used to monitor a patient’s respiratory rate and signal when a patient’s respiration falls outside the normal range.)

Respironics Pressure Alarm is a device that acts in a similar way as your heart rate monitor. Rather than focusing on the heart, this monitors your respiration rate (lungs).

This device is meant to be used by medical professionals, e.g. doctors, nurses, specialists to monitor your breathing rate.

Forrest Morton Bird (June 9, 1921 – August 2, 2015), is the inventor of the first ventilator for acute and chronic cardiopulmonary care.
