Respironics 950 Repair

The Respironics 950 is a finger pulse oximeter made by Respironics, Inc. Pulse oximeters are non-invasive devices used to monitor a patient’s oxygen saturation. Respironics is an American medical supply company that focuses on products designed to improve respiratory functions.

The 950 finger pulse oximeter integrates a finger clip sensor and the electronics of the Respironics Model 920, a handheld pulse oximeter. The 950 model weighs only two ounces and measures 1.3 inches wide by 1.3 inches high by 2.2 inches long. It displays numerical values for the patient’s pulse rate and functional oxygen saturation of arterial hemoglobin. Oxygen saturation is displayed as a percentage while pulse rate is displayed in beats per minute on LED digital displays. When a pulse is detected, the monitor’s Perfusion Display blinks. Patient perfusion signals are rated as good, marginal, or inadequate. These ratings are indicated by the perfusion indicator displaying green, yellow, or red, respectively.

The 950 pulse oximeter is powered by two AAA batteries. With new batteries, the monitor can operate for approximately 1,600 spot-checks or 18 hours of continuous operation. When the batteries have low power, the digital displays blink once per second.

The name “RESPIRONICS” is printed in capital letters across the top of the monitor.
