Oculus Rift CV1 Headset Cable Repair

I reached out to Palmer Lucky for help in obtaining replacement cables for the Oculus Rift CV1 VR Headset. He responded with this email.

Thanks for reaching out, and also for your support.

Making a replacement cable is not viable.  The technologies required are well patented, particularly the equalization ICs and connectors, neither of which are in production.  Even if you could license the technology, setting up a production line would have very high up front costs.  The limited market and high cost would probably result in any replacement cable costing hundreds of dollars.

I have been taking trade ins of broken cables for credit against working cables I've sold. I plan on experimenting on these cables to find a solution to the current problem.

Has anyone successfully repaired or lengthened a cable? Does anyone have access to or can construct a schematic of the Oculus Rift CV1 VR Headset Cable?
