Background

The Nothing Headphone (a) are wireless over-ear closed-back ANC headphones. The headphones was officially announced via Nothing's newsroom on February 26, and were released on March 5, 2026. The Headphone (a) is the successor to the Nothing Headphone (1).

The Headphone (a) has Nothing's distinctive retro-minimalist design, with a plastic body, the same tactile buttons and switches as its predecessor, and colorful ear cups. The headphones are designed to be comfortable, with a liquid-silicone headband, memory foam ear cups, and pivoting ear cups.

The Headphone (a) uses 40 mm drivers with titanium-coated diaphragms to achieve up to 110 db sound output from 20 Hz to 40 kHz frequency. It has a bass-forward sound signature, with an emphasized bass that dips around 200 Hz (the dip makes the sub-bass perceived as louder), under-emphasized midrange and neutral treble. The headphones connect with Bluetooth 5.4, but can also be used over USB-C or via the line-in 3.5 mm jack. The Headphone (a) is Hi-Res Audio certified and support the LDAC codec with 24-bit audio.

The headphones offer more than five days of battery life, with ANC disabled and the AAC codec, and can charge 8 hours of battery life in just 5 minutes. Its ANC features multiple modes, and uses AI for a dual feedforward and feedback microphones. The headphones also use AI for voice-calling clarity. The headphones come with a companion app that have multiple features, including a custom 8-band equalizer.
