Microsoft Surface Pro 12-inch (1st Edition) Repair

Microsoft's Surface Pro 12-inch (1st Edition) was announced on May 6, 2025, and released on May 20, 2025, alongside the Surface Laptop 13-inch. It's a smaller, cheaper entry into the Surface Pro and Copilot+ PC lineup. It features a fanless 8-core Snapdragon X Plus processor with a neural processing unit rated at 45 TOPS. To hit its lower price, it drops the Surface Connect port — it's the first Surface Pro to charge only via USB-C — and its UFS storage is soldered rather than a removable SSD. The Slim Pen stores and charges magnetically on the back of the tablet instead of in the keyboard.

The Surface Pro 12-inch starts at $799.99 (keyboard sold separately) and can be ordered in the following colors: Platinum, Ocean, and Violet.

The Surface Pro devices all look very similar, but the Surface Pro 12-inch is noticeably smaller than its 13-inch siblings and has no Surface Connect port. You can identify your Surface Pro model by the 4-digit number printed on the bottom edge under the kickstand. The Surface Pro 12-inch is identified by model numbers 2109 and 2110.
