Microsoft Surface Laptop 13-inch (1st Edition) Repair

Microsoft's Surface Laptop 13-inch (1st Edition) was announced on May 6, 2025, and released on May 20, 2025, alongside the Surface Pro 12-inch. It's a smaller, cheaper entry into the Surface Laptop lineup and effectively replaces the Surface Laptop Go line. It features a fanless 8-core Snapdragon X Plus processor with a neural processing unit rated at 45 TOPS. To hit its lower price, it uses a 60 Hz display, a fingerprint reader in the power button instead of a Windows Hello face camera, and removable UFS flash storage instead of an M.2 SSD. It also drops the Surface Connect port and charges via USB-C.

The Surface Laptop 13-inch starts at $899.99 and can be ordered in the following colors: Platinum, Ocean, and Violet.

The Surface Laptop devices all look very similar. You can identify your Surface Laptop model by the 4-digit number printed on the bottom of the device, near the display hinge. The Surface Laptop 13-inch with Snapdragon is identified by model number 2095. (A business-only variant with an Intel processor uses model number 2156.)
