The Fiat X1/9 is a mid-engined sports car produced between 1972 and 1989, to replace the 850 Spider. It features a transverse-mounted engine located behind the driver but ahead of the rear axle, providing a near-perfect weight distribution and exceptional handling characteristics for its era. It is distinguished by its wedge-shaped silhouette, pop-up headlights, and a removable Targa top that can be stowed in the front luggage compartment. Originally launched with a 1.3L engine, it evolved into a 1.5L five-speed model in 1978.
