Background and Identification

Electrosurgical generators are an essential component for electrosurgery, and are often referred to electrosurgical units (ESU). Electrosurgery is the use of high-frequency (radio frequency) electrical currents to alter body tissue. Radio frequency (RF) electrosurgery helps prevent and limit blood loss during surgery, especially when the tissue is cut, coagulated, desiccated, or fulgurated. RF electrosurgery is used in many common procedures, such as surgeries related to cardiac, plastic, dermatological, general, neuro, etc.
