Background and Identification
Cardiac monitors are devices that track heart activity to diagnose (or rule out) heart issues including myocardial infarction, arrhythmia, and long QT syndrome (LQTS). Ambulatory cardiac monitors refer to portable devices worn by patients that are able to walk around. In emergency rooms, cardiac monitors are used to analyze a patient’s vital signs.
