BC Biomedical SPO-2000 Repair

The BC Biomedical SPO-2000 is a pulse oximeter sold by BC Group International, Inc. BC Group is a provider of biomedical test equipment and measurement equipment. Pulse oximeters are non-invasive devices used to monitor a patient’s oxygen saturation. The SPO-2000 model is a microprocessor-based pulse generator that can be used to calibrate finger-based heart rate monitors.

The BC Biomedical SPO-2000 features six pulse rates between 30 and 180 beats per minute. Each pulse rate is identified by a unique LED light indicator. This unit can be used together with the BC Biomedical FingerSim System. The FingerSim can be used to verify the operation of pulse oximeters. The SPO-2000 model adds a calibrated pulse rate to the FingerSim unit.

The SPO-2000 pulse oximeter includes the model name “SPO-2000” printed in yellow font along with the words “pulse oximetry simulator” printed in capital letters. The manufacturer’s name, “BC Biomedical” is printed at the bottom center of the device’s front face. Two light-touch keys are placed on the unit’s front face; one is an Active/Standby button for controlling the power generator; the second is a Scroll button used for selecting the device’s pulse rate. Two LED lights at the bottom of the unit indicate the status of the device.
