The tuning is bass dominant with with set back mid frequencies. Even though the close-back design, the K52 still delivers in sound staging. The headphones are a low impedance design and easy to drive.

The headphones comes in black, has a metal frame with AKG's self-adjusting headband, and plastic ear cups. The K52 has a fixed 2.5 m cable, terminating to a 3.5 mm stereo plug.
