Background
The Honda Shadow is a cruiser style motorcycle first produced by Honda in 1983. Since then many models, including the Spirit, have come into existence. The Spirit was first introduced in 2001.
All Honda Shadow bikes have a V-twin engine ranging from 125cc to 1000cc. The Honda Shadow series looks extremely similar to one another. There are different models such as the Spirit, Aero, Sabre, and RS so it is important to know what model you have before you begin work on your bike.
Identification
The best way to identify which bike you have is by looking at the owners manual. All bikes will have the model name posted on the front of the bike behind the from wheel.
