Won't turn on

I have an older Danby, which I keep unplugged when not in use. When I plug it in, it beeps and the display shows for a second, then disappears. The power button doesn't turn it on. Unplugging and replugging gives the same result, a beep and a quick display of the last temp I had it set on, then it goes off again. Power button won't turn it back on. I've already tried the test and reset buttons on the power cord, which appear to be functioning properly.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

@trinklingcreek what is the exact model number for your AC?

DPA120E1BDB. I've already checked the owner's manual. There is nothing about maintenance or troubleshooting.

Hello, it looks like the motherboard is shutting down for some reason, since you're unplugging it each time you want to turn it off, maybe you're preventing the AC from starting a proper shutdown sequence, perhaps the fan has to keep turning for around 30s to prevent moisture or condensation to form on the motherboard or some electronic part.

I think a good start is to reach the board and clean it if possible or jiggle it, just don't forget to unplug the cord and becarful of the capacitors they still can hold charge.
