What is the full model number of the laptop as shown on the product information label on the bottom of the laptop?
Have you pressed the appropriate action key on the top row of the keyboard i.e. symbol on key looks like this |□| a few times to switch the laptop's display output away from the laptop screen and to the projector which is connected to the laptop's HDMI port?
Pressing the key several times should show the display on the laptop screen only, the external display only or both displays on together
