@andreaweigold sounds like the locking rod may have been disconnected. That could be caused by a worn out outside handle. Time to take a look at this. Use the 1998 2004 Isuzu Rodeo SECURITY AND LOCKSchapter for that. The first 10 pages are the ones that pretty much deal with this. Once you have it opened and you can't quite determine what is going on, take some well focused pictures. Then post those with your question Adding images to an existing question so we can see what you see.
