My clutch isnt disengaging
My clutch isntnt disengaging
Is this a good question?
Have you recently done any work to the clutch. Changed plates or anything. First check your lever and make sure it is pulling the cable properly. Then check the cable and make sure it is pulling on the clutch inside the side casing properly and there is plenty of travel but not to much slack. Each bike has a different set up for how the pressure plate is lifted to allow the clutch plates and basket to spin freely. Make sure it working properly. If you have done work to it recently like changed clutch pads and plates then when you installed the main pressure plate on top of the plates and pads there 4 maybe 5 even 6 bolts and heavy duty springs that push the plate down. The cable will pull on some kind of set up that will slightly lift that plate up to allow free movement of plates and pads. Either your springs are worn out and don't have the proper resistance to lift it up or the bolts are to tight and won't allow the plate to lift. Check springs then loosen those bolts up a small bit. Try to do them evenly so the plate lifts off evenly. Use blue thread lock to keep bolts where they need to be. Do not bottom out the bolts. My rule of thumb is tighten loose hand tight. Right at they start to get tight then back off a quarter of a turn at a time on each checking to make sure after each quarter turn the clutch is working properly.
