Why isn't the camera turning on?

My PowerShot A95 camera isn't turning on when screen is unfolded. has It only turns on when it has the screen folded against the plastic. I can't see any backlight and i can still take pictures.

Try pressing the DISP switch on the camera a few times to see if this resolves the problem
