Repair information for Samsung dishwashers.

Over water tub sensor won't reset

I have a Samsung dishwasher, DW80J. The heavy light began flashing which on this model indicates too much water in the tub. The pump ran constantly and I dried out the sump as much as I could. It is now bone dry but the heavy light continues to flash. If I turn it off at the breaker and leave it for a while, the pump will run again when I turn it back on, then eventually stop but the heavy light won't stop flashing. If I turn the power off at the control panel it starts up again with a warning chime and starts flashing heavy again. Any suggestions?

I don't know your exact model there should be a donut floater fitted over a pin in the bottom of the tub. It should slide up and down without getting stuck. Within the pin sits a Hall sensor which senses the Magnet within the floating donut. That's what measures the water in the tub. It's possible the sensor is not being seen within the logic board. You'll need to check the wires and may need a new one or the logic board needs repair or replacement.
